The jury is still out on this blue butterfly. The debate is weather it is a "northern" or a "Karner" Blue butterfly. If it is a Karner it is one of the first ones found north of Duluth, Minnesota. This one was found 20 miles north of Two Harbors, Minnesota at McNair Crossing.
Just one of the 29 different species of butterflies that was observed and counted on the McNair butterfly count of 13 July 2016. This is one species which should not be in this area their home range is further south. A rare sighting.
